Intersections
This is my latest piece which was made with Satin Stitches, only. Guess I'm really holding true to my mantra that all one needs is A Handful of Stitches to start creating. When I sat down to write about this new piece what kept coming to mind is that I simply love the pattern and enjoyed stitching early in the morning before work and at night, curled up in my big white chair which has turned into embroidery central.

Can art just be pretty? Can I simply say that I loved drawing the pattern, that the lines are calming to me and that I liked seeing how the intersecting lines came together, or does it have to mean something?
Perhaps I am simple, but I make what makes me happy. I get lost in a pattern or drawing and I want to spend more time with it and give it color. So, I turn it into a new embroidery piece.

Life can be difficult and stressful and it can also be joyous and beautiful. I like to incorporate as much beauty as I can into my life, into each day. I draw, sew and garden: in all of these activities peace and beauty is found in creativity.
I hope you find peace and beauty in this new piece, Intersections.
